BOAT SYNDICATION FAQ

  • Yes, there are restrictions on the number of days that can be used during weekend and week days. These restrictions are defined in the Syndicate Rule Book and have been made to ensure there is fair and equitable use for all Unit Holders.

  • Each Unit Holder is entitled to 22 weekend days and 48 business days each year plus unlimited standby use.

  • Christmas Day and Boxing Day plus New Years Eve and New Years Day are booked using a ballot system. The ballot is defined in the syndicate rule book.

  • At the end of the 3 year term South Bank Marina Boat Sales sells the vessel, and you will receive the balance of your equity share. All Unit Holders have the option to purchase the vessel outright.

A three-year term helps maintain the resale price on the boat, improving your equity return.

  • Yes, you are free to sell your share at any stage. South Bank Syndication will market and transact the sale on your behalf.

  • Unit Holders can book the vessel at any time using our customised online booking system, or by phone during normal business hours.

  • You are free to collect or return the vessel at any time within your booking period, subject to existing booking and maintenance requirements, just as you would if you owned the vessel outright. We have a simple online booking system that allows you to notify us when the vessel has been returned. Our boats are berthed at South Bank Marina that have full time dock staff during normal daytime hours and first-class facilities. We can drop off and pick up the vessel from your South Bank residence.

  • The vessel is fully insured with a reputable marine insurer. In the event of damage, the Unit Holder is responsible for the event and must pay any applicable insurance policy excess.

  • South Bank Syndication is responsible for refueling the vessel and will invoice each Unit Holder their share. Fuel charges will be based on fuel usage through the engines.

  • The vessel is fully cleaned after each booking, prior to the next Unit Holder's usage. We take great pride in the level of maintenance and presentation of your vessel.

  • Only the registered Unit Holder can use the vessel unless the prior approval of the trustee is given.

  • South Bank Syndication is formed using a fixed Unit Trust. The various units in the Trust are owned by the individuals giving them the secure and safe access to the vessel. The Trustee has no hold over the vessel, just simply manages the vessel on behalf of the unit holders.

  • During the familiarisation training we run through all on board systems and explain the best way to ensure your use of the vessel and to maximise your enjoyment. We go through practical on water tuition of the various systems to ensure you are comfortable and confident when using the vessel.

  • Yes we have sourced the very best in professional training to take you to the next level on your own boat, with the option of learning together with friends and family or in a one-to-one environment.
